KenyanNurse Consultants Launch Global Job Linkage Programme for Nurses in Trans Nzoia

Kenyan nurses seeking international job opportunities have received a major boost following the launch of a new programme by the KenyanNurse Consultants (KNC).  The initiative aims to connect Kenyan healthcare professionals with employment opportunities in countries facing nursing shortages, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. The KenyanNurse Consultants has launched a global job opportunities linkage programme aimed at connecting Kenyan nurses with international employment.  The initiative was introduced during a one-day sensitization and registration exercise at Equip Africa College in Kitale, where 159 nurses and final-year nursing students gathered to learn about career prospects abroad. Celebrating Success: St. Anne's Girls High School Honors 2024 KCSE Achievements

St. Anne's Girls High School in Kiminini held a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate its exceptional performance in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. Tawi Combined Defeats Mathare 3-2 in FKF Trans-Nzoia County League Opener

Tawi Combined football team defeated Mathare 3-2 in the FKF Trans-Nzoia County League opening match held at Ndura Sports Complex, Kitale, on Sunday. Mathare took an early lead through striker Elly Omondi in the 10th minute of the first half. However, Enock Nyagwoti equalized in the 28th minute. Mathare regained their lead a minute later, with Elly Omondi scoring his second goal, making it 2-1 by halftime. In the second half, Tawi Combined secured their victory with goals from Calvin Smotwa in the 63rd minute and Robert Kiberu in the 78th minute. In the second match, Rafiki FC drew 1-1 with Saboti Spartans at the same venue. Trainees Embark on Digital Soil Sampling Exercise Targeting 1,991 Farmers in Trans Nzoia

A team comprising Ward Agricultural Officers and agripreneurs has been dispatched to conduct soil sampling on selected farms before the onset of the long rains following their training. The sampling exercise targets 45 counties in Kenya, aiming to develop a digital soil map to guide farmers on specific fertilizer requirements. The samples will be sent to the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) laboratories for detailed analysis. The initiative, implemented under the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP), seeks to boost agricultural productivity by providing accurate information on soil health. “We are going to carry out the sampling exercise before the start of the long rains. The samples will be taken to KALRO laboratories for analysis,” said Fred Wandera, a soil scientist at KALRO. Kwanza Mp Commits to Continued Infrastructural Development in Schools

Kwanza Member of Parliament Ferdinand  Wanyonyi has pledged to enhance infrastructure in primary schools to support the growth of the Competency-Based Curriculum. Mr. Wanyonyi stated that, through the National Government Constituency Development Fund, all schools have successfully met the requirements to  havw Grade 9 classes. "When I took over leadership, there were only 32 public primary schools, but now we have 159. Secondary schools were just nine, but now we have 61 within 13 years," he said while inspecting a classrooms project at Makunga Primary School. The Kwanza Subcounty Director of Education stated that the Ministry of Education has supported the MP's efforts by constructing 65 classrooms. "There are funds from the ministry allocated for the fabrication of desks for Grade 9 classes to support junior secondary schools," said Mr. Anthony Barasa.
