St. Anne's Girls High School in Kiminini held a thanksgiving ceremony to celebrate its exceptional performance in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
The school posted an impressive mean score of 9.333, with all 30 candidates securing university placements.
Among the top performers, two students earned A- grades, twelve received B+ grades, six scored B-, and ten achieved B plain, showcasing strong and consistent results across the board.
The Managing Director of the St. Anne's Group of Schools Nang'ole Wanjala highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment in line with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
"Although we are in the private sector, we have supported many learners from humble backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to pursue their academic goals," said Dr. Nang'ole.
He also urged the Ministry of Education to address the unfair treatment of private school students in the university funding model, which assumes they come from wealthy backgrounds.
The St. Anne's Group of Schools encompasses an Early Years Education (EYE) unit, a primary section, and a Junior Secondary School. Plans are also underway to establish St. Maurice Boys High School in Kiminini.
The event marked the transition of leadership, with Mrs. Janet Mabango, the pioneering principal, officially handing over the reins to Florence Nafula Natembeya.
