A colorful homecoming ceremony was held at Kananachi village in Kiminini sub-county to honour the Deputy County Secretary in the County Government of Trans Nzoia George Kisaka.
The event, which drew hundreds of attendees, was a celebration of Kisaka’s personal and professional journey—especially his contribution to the education sector.
Mr. Kisaka, a seasoned educator and administrator, used the platform to reflect on his achievements in the academic field.
A teacher by profession, Kisaka served as principal in several schools across Bungoma County, including Bisuche and Namwela Secondary Schools, where he is credited with significant improvements in academic performance and infrastructure.
“I stand here today not only as a public servant but as a proud educator whose journey has been shaped in the classrooms and staffrooms of Western Kenya,” said Kisaka during his address.
The event was graced by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, who praised Kisaka for his unwavering dedication and transformative leadership both in the education sector and within the county government.
Several members of the Governor’s cabinet and the County Assembly were also in attendance.
Governor Natembeya used the occasion to reiterate his push for the economic transformation of the Western Kenya region, dismissing claims that his agenda is ethnically motivated.
“We need the right political direction to address the systemic poverty affecting our people in this region. This requires boldness,” said the Governor, urging local leaders to rally behind development-focused initiatives.
Members of the County Assembly echoed the Governor’s sentiments, expressing strong support for his vision. Sikhendu MCA Andrew Kutitila called out critics who have questioned Natembeya’s leadership approach.
“We want to tell off those who think they can lecture our Governor on how to manage our affairs. They should focus on their own counties,” Kutitila declared.
The event also served as a unifying moment for the residents of Kiminini and beyond—highlighting not only Kisaka’s accomplishments but also the region’s collective aspiration for progress and prosperity.
