Saboti MP Caleb Amisi Commissions Modern Classrooms at Kinyoro Primary, Rallies Unity in Development Agenda

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi today commissioned four newly constructed modern classrooms at Kinyoro Primary School in Kinyoro Ward, marking a significant milestone in the constituency’s efforts to uplift education infrastructure and promote equity in learning opportunities.

Addressing teachers, pupils, and local residents, MP Amisi described the project as more than just bricks and mortar.

“This is about restoring dignity and bringing equal opportunities to all learners across Saboti. Today, we breathe life into a school that many had forgotten,” he said.

The new classrooms are expected to ease congestion, improve the learning environment, and inspire better academic performance at the institution, which has for years grappled with inadequate facilities.

Later in the day, the MP held a consultative meeting with elders and opinion leaders from Kinyoro, Machewa, and Saboti wards.

The meeting focused on community welfare and charting a united development agenda for the constituency.

“A community that speaks together grows together. Unity is our strength. Through dialogue and shared vision, we can transform Saboti into a beacon of inclusive development,” Amisi emphasized.

The dual events underscore the legislator’s ongoing commitment to grassroots engagement and equitable growth across all wards of the constituency.

KNUNM Trans Nzoia Secretary, Edward Cheruiyot, stated that despite mediation efforts by the Ministry of Labour, which appointed a conciliator, no resolution had been reached. “The union has done its part, but the government has failed to avert the strike. The conciliator was appointed, but no meetings have taken place, and no progress has been made,” Cheruiyot said. At the core of the strike are several unresolved issues. One of the primary concerns is the failure to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the 2025-2029 period. "Negotiations for the CBA have stalled. The government promised to form a committee to address the matter, ...
