Wamalwa Kijana Hospital Gets Sh35 Million Medical Supplies Boost

Healthcare services at Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital in Trans Nzoia County have received a major boost following the delivery of drugs and non-pharmaceutical medical supplies worth Sh35 million.

The consignment was officially received on Tuesday by Board Members Father Micah Kibet and Teresa Meto, together with the County’s Chief Officer for Health, Judith Simiyu.

Father Kibet welcomed the supplies, noting that they will strengthen the hospital’s capacity to serve patients effectively.

“This support ensures that our patients can continue receiving quality care without interruptions,” he said.

Chief Officer Simiyu reaffirmed the county government’s commitment to reliable healthcare delivery, highlighting that procurement systems have been improved to ensure consistent availability of medical commodities.

Board Member Teresa Meto encouraged staff to make responsible use of the supplies, ensuring accountability and maximum benefit to patients.

She also made a heartfelt appeal to striking nurses across the county to consider resuming duty, emphasizing the urgent need to restore healthcare services for residents who depend on public health facilities.

“We understand the concerns raised by our healthcare workers, but we also urge them to return to work for the sake of our patients—many of whom have no other place to turn,” Meto said.

As the premier referral facility in Trans Nzoia, Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital serves thousands of residents locally and from neighboring counties.

The Sh35 million medical consignment is expected to sustain efficient healthcare services and improve the overall patient experience.
