George Natembeya Foundation Launches Second Phase of Schools Library Support Initiative in Trans Nzoia

The George Natembeya Foundation, in partnership with the Giants Group of Nairobi - Twiga and Vanik Vaishnav Mahajan led by philanthropist Mukesh Desai, has officially launched the second phase of its Schools Library Support Initiative, further advancing its mission to empower communities through education.

The event, held in Kitale marked a significant milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to improve literacy and academic outcomes for students in the region.

As part of the second phase, seven additional schools received generous donations of books aimed at expanding their library resources and enriching the learning environment for thousands of pupils.

“This initiative is a reflection of our deep commitment to education as a transformative tool,” said the chairman of the Foundation professor Ferdinand Nang’ole.

The foundation's treasurer, Dorothy Nyukir, emphasized the project's importance in enhancing literacy levels among learners.

“We believe that by equipping our children with the right resources, we are building a brighter and more informed future for them.”

The library support project falls under the Foundation’s Education Support pillar, one of four strategic focus areas that also include Housing Projects, Medical Support, and Social Support.

Together, these pillars form the core of the Foundation’s community empowerment agenda.

By targeting underserved schools and providing them with essential learning materials, the Foundation and its partners aim to close educational gaps, inspire a reading culture, and enhance the overall quality of education in the region.

The George Natembeya Foundation continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration between local and international partners in driving sustainable change at the grassroots level.

The conciliator was appointed, but no meetings have taken place, and no progress has been made,” Cheruiyot said. At the core of the strike are several unresolved issues. One of the primary concerns is the failure to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the 2025-2029 period. "Negotiations for the CBA have stalled. The government promised to form a committee to address the matter, ...
